Hosting in Switzerland (Hostpoint)

The site is static HTML (built with Astro) and hosted with Hostpoint — infrastructure located in Switzerland as described by the provider. When you request a page, the host typically processes technical data in server logs (e.g. IP address, timestamp, path, user-agent). Scope and retention are set out in Hostpoint’s privacy notice.

Visitor statistics at the host (e.g. Logaholic): Hostpoint may include web statistics or visitor analytics in the hosting plan — often branded Logaholic or similar in the control panel. Reports are largely aggregated (e.g. page views, time on site, rough origin, sometimes derived from server logs). Important: we do not embed Logaholic or Hostpoint statistics JavaScript in our HTML pages; processing is server-side at the host — unlike tools such as Google Analytics that run in the visitor’s browser. Per the provider, this is not meant to identify individuals or run profiling for personalised ads — unlike many marketing pixels. Which product is enabled, scope, and retention are set out in Hostpoint’s current documentation and customer portal.

We do not set our own cookies and we do not store personal data in your browser’s local or session storage.

No embedded analytics or marketing trackers

Our page code does not embed Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, Hotjar, hosted Matomo/Plausible, or similar browser-side trackers. We do not measure your browsing through those mechanisms.

Fonts (self-hosted)

Inter and Space Grotesk are bundled via Fontsource at build time and served with the site. Your browser does not load fonts from Google Fonts or other third-party font CDNs for this purpose.

JavaScript on this site

Small scripts in the header power the mobile navigation (open/close, Escape key), a compact header on scroll, and a thin reading-progress line under the navigation bar. They do not persist data on your device or send usage data to us or third parties.

Structured data (SEO)

Pages may include JSON-LD snippets (schema.org, e.g. WebSite, BlogPosting) for search engines. These are declarative metadata in the HTML — not an additional tracking mechanism.

External links

The footer and magazine link to Instagram and other third-party sites. Nothing is auto-embedded; you only reach those providers after you click. Their policies apply there. mailto: links open your local mail client.

Route Sniper and other outbound links

References to Route Sniper or other services leave this domain. We do not embed third-party tracking iframes or social widgets on bike-people.ch.

Do we need a cookie banner?

For the current setup (no first-party cookies on the site, no embedded marketing trackers in the browser), we do not use a cookie banner. Server-side statistics at the host (e.g. Logaholic, if enabled) are a different category from third-party cookies in the frontend. If you change usage or add embedded video, social widgets, or browser analytics, reassess and update this page.

Your rights (brief)

Depending on applicable law (e.g. Swiss FADP, possible EU overlap), you may have rights of access, rectification, or erasure where we process personal data. Pure provider log files are often limited and retention is provider-defined — email us at the address above if you have a request.
